Amitabh : I left politics as I was 'inadequate' for the job

Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, who was a Lok Sabha MP in 1984-87, says he quit politics because he felt he was 'inadequate for the job'. 'Many ask me why I joined politics and why I left it. I joined it because I was asked to and left because I was inadequate for the job,' Bachchan posted on his blog. The veteran actor came into politics at the behest of friend and then prime minister Rajiv Gandhi. He contested the Lok Sabha election from his hometown Allahabad in 1984. He won by a huge majority. He says it is a tough job to be a politician and admires those who have managed to stay put in it. 'Politics is a complicated world - a world where if you are unable to play the game, you would remain a novice and a stranger eternally. I admire those who have remained in it for long years. (I) admire the guile with which they steer their boats every day, every minute. The ease with which they make associations and break them, reject foes and months later embrace them as dearest friends. It is a tough job. 'A job that I would never be able to do. I would never recommend it to anyone. But I do know that those who pursue this line do so with utmost dedication and passion. Their dedication and passion is admirable,' he said. Bollywood is buzzed with Katrina Kaif’s close encounter with Salman Khan’s rival Shahrukh Khan. Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif flew all the way from London to Mumbai together with Shahrukh sharing his story of ugly detention in the US airport to Katrina.

Sources on the sets of Ramesh Taurani’s Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani say the two stars bonded because they are the same age. Katz has worked predominantly with all of Bollywood’s leading men who are in their mid-40s, and the 27-year-old Ranbir came as, well, a bundle of fun.

Katz, of course, is Ranbir’s senior in the industry (she’s a dozen films old, he’s got just two releases) and she rags him on the sets by showing him five fingers. No, it’s not what you think! The irrepressible Katz just rubs it into Ranbir that she’s had five hits in a row… while he’s had none. “With Ranbir, I can be myself. I guess it’s the age and the film’s a comedy, so the atmosphere on the sets is like that,” revealed Katz.

Poor Ranbir, he tells director Rajkumar Santoshi that they should take all decisions (even what to eat for lunch!) only after consulting Katz, as she’s the reigning box office queen! “She’s a treat,” admitted Ranbir. The cold war between Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif has finally come to an end. They patched up during Amrita’s wedding and had a blast during her bash. Katrina Will not act with Salman Khan

Katrina Kaif will leave the opportunity to act with Salman Khan. The film in question is Ajay Devgan next home production to be directed by Rohit Shetty, the man behind the comedies Golmaal, Sunday and Golmaal Returns. Katrina has cited dates problem for not accepting the offer. If Kat accepts the offer then she will get to act alongside beau Salman. But after the fallout of Yuvraaj and most importantly due to dates problem, she is bound to say no.

Her spokesperson clarifies, "it is unfortunate but Katrina will not be able to do the project, she's tied up with her other commitments and dates were a big hassle. Hence she will not be doing Rohit Shetty's film". Ajay will also share screen space with Salman in his untitled film. It is known that both developed a good relationship on the set of London Dreams and it was during this time that Ajay Devgan had expressed his wish to Salman Khan to cast Katrina in his next home production.

Salman and Ajay were last seen together in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. In that flick, they did not get much scope to share the same screen but came to know each other better and developed a good rapport during London Dreams.
